The Bay Bridged is, of course, a great local resource for boning up on local band interviews, video and audio podcasts, and tour blogs. Now they're also in the CD business for the second round of their The Bay Bridged series. Volume 2 is a picture disc featuring exclusive new songs from some incredible local talent of the folk and indie pop leaning variety. There are fresh tunes here from the likes of Rogue Wave, Emily Jane White, Birds & Batteries, Two Sheds, and Okay. All these acts threw down for the Web site, which will reap the benefits of every comp sold. To get a sense of what's on offer, check out this stunning piece of ghostly folk: "Good Intentions" by Two Sheds. (p.s. You can pick up a copy of the comp here). -- Jennifer Maerz

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
