Berkeley's Roche is a futuristic MC with a taste for the past. Using an MPC 2000 and a Casio CT-607, the rapper crafts robotic beats and rhymes with bass fuzzier than cashmere and sound effects that chew through cheap speakers. He's part of the local Solos Records crew, and the label is releasing another comp of askew hip-hop July 22. Today you can check out Roche's "Dashing" Feat. Livingston Gains. -- Jennifer Maerz

The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
