Photographer's notes: Pink feathers, magic tricks and black leather hot pants had eyes popping at Thursday night's QBaret - a queer burlesque show at SOMA's Garage Art Space. Each act was sexy yet classy with performers like Cherry Lix and Penny Whistle strutting and shaking their stuff across the stage. Most of the routines were accompanied by a live singer, who sang songs from the 30's and 40's such as "Bushel and a peck." As the singers belted away, members of either the Twilight Vixen Revue or SF Boylesque wooed the audience with their flexibility, quirky facial expressions and costumes which ended up scattered across the stage by the end of the act.

QBaret runs at the Garage until June 28th. Click the image for more photos from Thursday's edition. --Ariel Soto

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
