MP3 of the Day: DJ A-Trak

Posted By on Fri, Jun 27, 2008 at 12:14 PM

I'm a running addict, but finding new ways to get my music to inspire my legs to move is a constant struggle. It's strange that a big company like Nike would release some good original music, but I guess those guys know what it's like to hit the pavement (or the trails) on a regular basis. Nike's "Nike+ Original Run" series has produced some killer stuff in the past -- LCD Soundsystem's mix remains one of my running favorites. Now they've tapped DJ A-Trak to move listeners. The dude has been on the decks since he was a kid--winning DJ battles at age 15 and moving up in the world to tour with Kanye. Here's a sample of A-Trak's song for hitting the track, "Say Woah." -- Jennifer Maerz

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
