The tech-savvy music fans responsible for S.F.'s On the List music podcast are packing up their laptop, rounding up some friends' bands, and heading down to Thee Parkside for what they're calling the "First Ever Sunday Awesome Rock Showcase." Podcast host Willie Dills (above) is bringing along his band, The Hooks, for a dose of Irished-up punk, with the fightin' femmes of The Departed, "scumbag country" hog-sloppers Hellbound Glory, soul-dappled indie kids Th' Moonlight Sexy, and big-block rawkers Black Moon Ritual rounding out the matinee lineup. That all goes down starting at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 6. In the meantime you can always go to On the List's podcast page and listen to the likes of bands such as Hands of Crom, the Filthy Thievin' Bastards, the White Barons, Kepi Ghoulie, the Fucking Champs, and more. When you're done with that, take a hint from these guys and get out of the goddamn house for once! — J. Graham

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
