Kevin Costner rocks the Fillmore

Posted By on Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 2:28 PM

You loved him in The Guardian, so you'll love him covering Dylan songs, right? Clubs editor John Graham just pointed out that Kevin Costner and his band Modern West is coming to the Fillmore July 17. Says Mr. Graham, "What do you get when an aging moviestar decides to play generic Americana rock? No, not Billy Bob Thornton... BBT seems like Merle Haggard compared to this. It's Kevin Costner, live and direct and coming to the Fillmore this July." Fans of Dances With Wolves are encouraged to get there early to show their support. You can't trust what those weirdo Waterworld loyalists will do to get next to the stage. -- Jennifer Maerz

The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
