Just When You Thought It Was Safe to Go Back in the Regency Center

Perhaps you thought the threat was over, the outbreak contained, the madness cured. After the unholy Dark Times, human life was finally ready to recover and move forward.

You were wrong.

That's right: lock up your daughters, because the Juggalos are back. And they're returning to San Francisco in full strength on July 11, when Dark Lotus — aka the hell-born spawn of Insane Clown Posse, Twiztid, and Blaze — comes to the Grand Ballroom at the Regency Center. While we're not against horrorshow costumes, evil clowns, or fat guys in ridiculous facepaint, we're generally of the opinion that they're best confined to McAfee Coliseum when the Raiders are playing (or, really, even when the Raiders aren't playing). But one thing's for sure: We're going to stock up at the BevMo across the street from the Regency well in advance of the Juggalo hordes. Always be prepared — disaster could be right around the corner. — J. Graham

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
