Ladies Get Their Glamour On for This Week's Top Model

Posted By on Thu, May 8, 2008 at 1:39 AM

With only four ladies left, all the models (except Tranny) started to stress about their status. Whitney felt insecure having spent two weeks solid weeks in the bottom two, but felt that "America and America's Next Top Model are ready for a plus size girl." Let's hope so. Fatima is so thin it's terrifying. Speaking of food, all the girls complained about Tranny's eating habits. Apparently she eats candy and snacks all the time and when she runs out of her own food she eats other people's.

The first bit of Tyra Mail said "Take a picture, you might last longer. Love, Tyra." Finally the girls stopped trying to interpret the message and just let it be. They left for their challenge and found themselves at a park where they watched judge Paulina in a photo shoot. The (apparently) famous photographer with a hysterical heavy accent taking her pictures gave the girls a lesson in shooting photos. They practiced taking pictures of each other when Ann Shoket from Seventeen arrived to explain the challenge -- the ladies would have five minutes to shoot Paulina and they would be judged on how they worked with the model and how their photo looked.

What a ridiculous challenge. Almost anyone can take a nice photo if their camera is expensive enough. The winner would receive 50 extra frames in her shoot.

During the shoot, Fatima lead Paulina well. She wound up with a great range of photos. Tranny struggled with instructing Paulina. Whitney seemed very professional and had a solid idea of the look she attempted to attain. Her instruction lead to awesome beauty shots. Then Anya tried to bring a million different ideas to the shoot and her photos wound up either really great or really terrible. Ultimately Fatima won (her first win, but who cares).

Back at the house, Fatima practiced her walk while Tranny gloated about her high self esteem and patronized the other girls. Doesn't she think she should be more modest seeing how she looks like a man? Plus, no one likes a model that can't stop talking about herself. The next Tyra Mail read "They're out for blood but they will give you a taste of fame. Love, Tyra."

They headed to the shoot where Jay informed them that they would be posing in a night shoot with a male model dressed up as 50's movie stars dealing with the paparazzo (little known fact, apparently that means mosquito). The girls got giddy when they realized Nigil was their photographer (insert giggles and screams). This season may be coming to an end, but Jay felt disappointed by all the performances. Anya tried too hard to pose and ultimately found success when Jay distracted her. Fatima looked gorgeous but struggled through the entire shoot, even her 50 extra frames. Bootylicious Whitney pulled her typical posey shtick and Tranny seemed too staged. At least all the girls realized they were horrible and anticipated panel properly.

During panel some of the photos were surprisingly good. Anya's was fantastic and totally gorgeous, even if accidental. Whitney stood a bit stiff, but the photo captured the beauty of her face. Dom wore a horrendous outfit to panel and the judges made her fix it as usual. The only thing worse than her ensemble was her tranny-tastic photo. Ms. J justified it saying "that's why it's called Cover Girl, because it covers up the man in you." Good call! Fatima told the judges that she felt challenged during the shoot because she never had a boyfriend before, which frustrated the judges because it furthered their feeling that her listening skills are lacking.

Ultimately, Anya received her photo first followed by Whitney. Fatima and Tranny were in the bottom two. The judges decided Fatima had more potential and she got to stay. Peace out Tranny! Also, aren't the girls in Rome still? What's with the lack of Roman culture this episode? Tyra usually lives for cheesy cultural stuff. So excited this cycle is almost over. Hopefully they never have Top Model ever again. Too much of a good thing gets horribly annoying, Ty.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
