Anna Oxygen Aerobicises SFIFF

Posted By on Thu, May 1, 2008 at 9:41 AM

Once again, SFIFF's programming offers plenty of footage for music-loving cinephiles. But tonight's live performance by Anna Oxygen should truly merge the audio with the visual. The West Coast performance artist is known for her aerobic workouts to electro pop beats -- performed before giant film screens.

Check out her videos here and then see her live tonight at Kabar Hall Jewish Community Center (3200 California St.) at 8 p.m.,when she performs with Cloud Eye Control-- a group merging "animation, experimental theater, pop music and puppetry" with a vigorous dance floor workout. There's really no better way to work off all that SFIFF popcorn for your entertainment dollar. -- Jennifer Maerz

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
