RZA Preps New Bobby Digital Album, Plays SF in June

Posted By on Mon, Apr 21, 2008 at 12:44 PM

In an interview with Pitchfork, Wu-Tang beatsmith the RZA discussed his future plans, which include a new Bobby Digital LP, titled Digi Snacks, out July 1 and an SF performance at 1015 on June 21. The new album is supposedly really fun, but the RZA admits it's not quite as fun as Ol' Dirty Bastard's Return to the 36 Chambers. Damn right. I still get overwhelmed with happiness every time I watch the "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" video. -- Oscar Pascual

The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
