The Lowbrow Art Sale: Coop, Klutch & Paul Chatem

Coop "Parts With Appeal"

Coop first reeled me in with his Lords of Acid cover for their album "Voodoo U." If you're a fan of his work, Pressure Printing is having sale this month and you can take 20% off any order. So what better way to score this print set by Coop? It features six mini prints, three devil girls and a spark plug triptych. Each print is signed and numbered in an edition of 500. You also get a nifty portfolio, in case you don't want to frame the prints.

Aye Jay/Todd Bratrud/A. Horkey "Klutch Benefit"

This print is being released by Diesel Fuel prints and is a benefit print to help out Klutch and rising medical bills. You have no doubt seen the work of Klutch in galleries, shops and magazines such as Thrasher and most recently Time. This print is a huge 18"x24," and coming from Diesel Fuel, it is sure to look amazing. I love the layout and colors; it really just pops out at you.

Paul Chatem "Hamster Wheel"

Paul Chatem is one of my favorite artists, and I would love to show more prints from him but he doesn't release that many. Luckily, Slingshot Press has a print of his "Hamster Wheel" piece as a part of their "50 for 50" promotion. Paul also has a solo show coming up this April 12th at the Shooting Gallery in San Francisco. Not sure if he will have prints there or not. You can also order this print framed, and it's limited to 50.

Michael Latimer "Surrogate"

Lowercase Industries has some prints available by Michael Latimer. The process of these prints is pretty cool. Each print has a hand painted background, some hand drawn elements and then finally screen printed over. There is a choice between 5 colors: red, blue, orange, brown & pink. Each one limited to 25. You also have the choice to order them framed. The brown looks kind of like rust, and alas is sold out.

Justin Kamerer "Twiggy"

Otherwise known as AngryBlue, Justin Kamerer has created some amazing gig posters for such bands as The Melvins, Gwar, The Killers and many more. He has an amazing style and has made some of my favorite gig posters. The print is from his "Vanity Series," and it's Twiggy, of course. It's a two-color print, and it looks pretty killer.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
