The Lowbrow Art Sale: Jeff Soto, Nathan Spoor & Kathie Olivas

Jeff Soto "War Clouds"

jeffsoto_warcloud_thumb.jpg

A new print from Jeff's solo show, "Storm Clouds" that happened last September at the Jonathan Levine Gallery is being released. This has to be one of my favorite pieces from that show, well pretty much every painting at that show was my favorite but not all of them are being turned into prints. The staining in the background contrasted with his perfect linework looks amazing. This print is 20" x 14", in an edition of 50. The original was only 18" x 12", so the print is a tad bigger. E-mail Jeff if you would like to get one of these before they are officially released.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
