Valentine's Day Homo Massacre Next Week

No, they aren't going to kill a bunch of gay dudes on Valentine's Day. However, there will be a bunch of gay dudes having a killer time. I'm not sure if you need to be queer or punk to go, but being one or the other certainly wouldn't wouldn't hurt. More info when you click "More." -- ASD Staff Report

So here's the shit on the event, it's a nine "band" day long festival (I use the word band loosely I guess, because at least one act wouldn't be considered a band in the traditional sense). It's all DIY, underground music, punk in spirit if not all in sound. Anna Conda of Charlie Horse fame is hosting the event. There will be film and slideshows in the front room and an art show all over. DJs will be Walter Crasshole, Alex Cox, Vroom, and Violent Vickie. Lots of cool bling. It starts at 5:00 p.m. and goes until late and costs $10. Everyone attending gets a free festival mix CD with material by all the artists. Oh, yeah, it's at the Stud and it's of course 21+ there.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
