Biz Markie's Got What You Need, SF

Posted By on Wed, Jun 27, 2007 at 9:49 AM

Oakland white rapper Ashkon opens tonight for the legendary Biz Markie in San Francisco. The line-up is stacked:

Biz Markie

Hosted by Kevvy Kev with Ren the Vinyl Archaeologist

additional performances by

Ashkon aka Ashkon Broadway <--- new shit

The Natural

plus The Green Giants Tour featuring mathpanda , Rosetta Stoned and Flex Matthews

Doors 8 p.m. Ashkon performance at 10:30

at Ruby Skye

In spite of this line-up ticket sales have been slow. What's up Bay Area? A CERTIFIED TRUE SCHOOL HIP-HOP LEGEND like BIZ MARKIE comes to the Bay and is getting slept on! People please... tell me this is just some Bay Area procrastination shit.

If the $25 dollar ticket price has been scaring you off, the promoter wants you to know that today he's giving away 100 tickets that will entitle you to a $3 discount. "Let's show and prove here people, I would like to see all of these tickets get used. Hit me up directly, if you need to get your hands on a discounted ticket. " says Sayre.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
