Hot Chip, Datarock, The Pipettes, and The Rosebuds -- Plugged In, Live Music Picks, June 12, 2007

Hot Chip at The Fillmore ("...Beta Band comparison seems quite accurate.")

Datarock at The Independent ("...gayer than Guided By Voices, maybe even gayer than the Boo Radleys.")

The Pipettes at Popscene ("...part sexy librarian, part slumber party nymphet, a smidge of attitude reminiscent of the Raincoats, and very, very white.")

The Rosebuds at Great American Music Hall ("...set the wayback machine to early-’80s England, crafting dark, spry pop that’s thick with synths and noir guitars and indebted to OMD, Roxy Music, the Human League, and “Let’s Go to Bed”–era Cure.")

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
