Quit Bitching: Saturday Night Picks

Posted By on Sat, Jun 9, 2007 at 12:31 PM

Come hear the originators of the mash-up sound at DNA Lounge tonight with Adrian and Mysterious D's "Bootie." In addition to the fusion tracks happening downstairs, tonight, in the upstairs lounge, you will find an entire room spilling out nothing but Madonna mash-up beats (perfect for Homosexual Pride month!), located next to the venue's only single-occupancy bathroom. Clubbing convenience on so many levels, really. (9 p.m.-after-hours, $12 [2-for-1 before 10:30 p.m.])

Tomorrow: why you should be watching The Tony's instead of going out! Or instead of watching the series finale of the straight-male, emo-porn camp fest that is now The Sopranos! --Brock Keeling

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
