"Loads of vile Pornography and Harvey Milk" -- it's Quit Bitching: Your Friday Night Club Picks

Posted By on Fri, Jun 8, 2007 at 2:33 PM

After Magnet Gallery's premiere of Leo Herrera’s "Phimosis: Sex & Icons" exhibit -- which features such invert-related iconography and imagery as the suit former San Francisco supervisor Harvey Milk wore when he was shot to death by former San Francisco supervisor Dan White (who knew he was so handsome? In addition to being certifiably batshit, that is); the Stonewall Tavern; loads and loads of vile pornography; and more -- stumble down to The Transfer for what will be the after-party of the year, I’m sure.

Sure, the bar sometimes smells a wee bit like piss, but to mask said odor is a fresh lineup of DJs and stellar performances provided by II3 projections, Jason Kendig, Robot Hustle, Pee Play, Ken Vulsion, Marina Bitch, and the delicious Marke B (well, look at me, building bridges and shit. Someone hand me a goddamn peace prize. [11 p.m.-2 a.m., free]) --Brock Keeling

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
