Quit Bitching: Thursday Night Club Picks

Posted By on Thu, Jun 7, 2007 at 3:02 PM

The Knockout's "Bingotopia" claims to be the "best beer-soaked bingo game in town," and it really is. Sure, it's probably not nearly as much fun as the prescription pill-soaked ones where your grandparents blow their social security checks, but at least this one has DJs White Heat and the Sea Captain spinning. Almost as good as a couple of Adderalls and a Xanax chaser, I'm sure. (8 p.m.-10 p.m., free)

But if you simply must get your indie rock on or shake your wispy ass, then 330 Ritch's "popscene" hosts British band Client this evening, along with resident DJs Aaron Axelsen, Omar, and Nako spinning Britpop, electro, and alternative rock. Also, the scene is a dewy fresh 18-and-over one, so some of you might want to go elsewhere. (10pm, $10) --Brock Keeling

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
