Write Club SF's motto is "literature as a bloodsport," and the gloves are definitely off with the monthly literary competition's first anthology, Bare-Knuckled Lit: The Best of Write Club.
WCSF, an offshoot of a Chicago group, was formed in 2011 by Steven Westdahl and Casey Childers. The club pits writers with opposing viewpoints against each other in seven-minute bouts, with very real money for charity at stake, every third Tuesday of the month at the booze-soaked Make-Out Room. For the launch party, the gang is moving uptown to the classier (but still boozy) environs at the Booksmith. Prepare for battle.
