Woo Woo

There’s no reason to put this gently: Woo at the Zoo is about animals screwing. The idea is, you go to the zoo, eat a romantic meal (beef tenderloin and herbed couscous for dinner, French toast and maple sausage for brunch) listen to Jane Tollini give a presentation on animal mating, then go home and … cue the Barry White. Your mind might, however, fixate on what male Baboons to do female Baboons for -- what? -- like several days. Or the thirty-minute pig orgasm. Or the 8-foot Blue whale penis. Or any number of things that seemed fine to ponder during the event but are now horrifying. You can always snuggle.

  • clipping at Brava Theater Sept. 11
Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
