Wickedly Zero Waste Halloween

When: Tue., Oct. 28 and Fri., Oct. 31 2014
So what’s a zero-waste loving, socially conscious San Franciscan who's looking to have a little fun on Halloween supposed to do?

You want to wear something that will get attention, be photographable (selfies don't count), and maybe spark a look from someone you'd like to get to know better, right? Prepackaged costumes are totally lacking in enviro cred. In San Francisco your costume has to be original to get props.

Fear not. All it takes to resolve your Costume Conflict is a little online research (http://sfgoodwill.org/wickedly-zero-waste-halloween/), a willingness to imagine yourself anew, and a visit to your local Goodwill. That's where you can save money and do the earth a good shake. Remember, friends don't let friends buy costumes in a bag.

Find your Zero Waste look at a local Goodwill store: www.sfgoodwill.org

  • clipping at Brava Theater Sept. 11
Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
