White Hills: Show Preview

Wednesday, Sep 14 2011

The Brooklyn-based psych cosmonauts of White Hills have established themselves as some of America's foremost proponents of fuzz-driven space rock since coming together in 2005. Founded by guitarist, principal songwriter, and onetime S.F. resident David W, the band has released an avalanche of albums and EPs mixing juggernaut riffage and pulsing Krautrock dronescape. Its latest effort, H-p1, expands upon the legacies of Hawkwind, Can, and early Tangerine Dream with synapse-frying deep-space epics. White Hills shares the stage with Carlton Melton — a similarly expansive and face-melting Mendocino Country quartet featuring former members of Zen Guerilla — and local guitar/bass duo Dirty Ghosts.
