Nobody said baseball organizations lack ambition — the Giants County Fair spans 10 days and will be open more than 80 hours. We’re a little in awe. There’ll be 20 rides and a pie-eating contest, hot dogs and lemonade, a Ferris wheel, and suchlike. If you’re still unimpressed, here goes: bumper cars. Also this: a midway. It’s perfect if you have kids. You’ve dragged them to enough museums. You can Ring the Bell with a sledgehammer, pop a dart, and flip a chicken, without even leaving Lot A. Also, each day gets special entertainment, from music (Knights of Monte Carlo, Tracorum, Bayonics) to dance (FUSION, Parangal) to livestock (the zoo is trucking in some animals) to fireworks (exploding tonight). Added bonus: The first four days also have Major League Baseball happening yonder, with the Giants vs. the Padres.
