Dunun are played in many West African countries. This workshop will be on traditions from Guinea from the Kouroussa region. Dunun drum, Dunun is a family of 3 drums ranging from the smallest size to the largest size, they are hand crafted and a rope tuned cylindrical rawhide skin on both ends they are play with stick and bell attached on each drum. The name of those 3 drums are: Kenkeni the smallest size Sangban the medium size and the Dununba the largest size. Taught by Mabiba Baegne: Internationally acclaimed teacher, drummer & choreographer of traditional and contemporary African Dance.
