Your Resolve By Lisa Crovo Real Life Resolutions Suck It Up By Dan Dion Gym Listings Yoga Listings |
Lose weight. Exercise more. Get organized. Travel. With this guide we
aim to inspire you to follow through on your resolve, whatever it may be.
We've researched some fun fitness options to help you stick to your exercise
plan, interviewed a registered dietitian about weight-loss tips and traps,
and explored alternative medical practices for different perspectives on
getting and staying healthy. Comprehensive listings of yoga studios, gyms,
and health clubs let you know where to go and who offers what when you're
looking for places to stretch out or workout.
Since resolutions need not be all about sacrifice and discipline, we've included a section on mind/body/spirit balance -- whether it's a Swedish massage, meditation class, or leisurely afternoon at the spa, taking time to nurture body and soul leaves you feeling invigorated with renewed commitment to your goals. There are two types of people -- those who make resolutions and those who don't. We polled nearly a hundred people who did, and compiled some of the answers here. For the results, both sincere and sarcastic, check out Real Life Resolutions on page 26. Finally, Dan Dion comes clean on quitting -- smoking that is -- in his essay about his love/hate relationship with cigarettes, how he gave up the evil weed, and his true feelings about reformed smokers. If you have already abandoned your resolutions, it's not too late. Flip through these pages for some motivation, and with Mercury no longer in retrograde, you stand a better chance this time.
