Join us for a conversation between Exploratorium Artist-in-Residence Nina Katchadourian and Marina McDougall, Director of the Exploratorium Center for Art & Inquiry. Katchadourian will describe her two-year process of investigating themes of memory, patience, and boredom; culminating in the new work Floater Theater debuting at the Exploratorium on October 1. Floater Theater is an intimate theatrical environment that prompts participants to explore the fascinating, commonly experienced phenomenon of eye floaters. The optimally-lit screen accentuates the visitor’s ability to see their own eye floaters, while an audio piece, narrated by Katchadourian in her best British accent, guides them through the experience

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
