Watch Jaws at the Paramount Theatre! Recommended

When: Fri., June 26 2015
See Jaws now! When a gigantic man-eating great white shark ravages the small island community of Amity, a police chief (Roy Scheider), a marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss), and a veteran fisherman (Robert Shaw) set out to stop it. They soon find they're going to need a bigger boat! As John Williams' musical score menacingly builds up to that famous thundering crescendo, you'll remember why Jaws remains one of the most terrifying films of the 20th century. Adapted from Peter Benchley's novel, this is the box-office blockbuster that established director Steven Spielberg as a force to be reckoned with. Inspired casting, a terrific plot, and Mother Nature's nastiest villain all combine to bring you the ultimate big-screen nail-biter! Jaws was nominated for Best Picture and won Oscars for Best Sound, Best Film Editing, and Best Original Dramatic Music Score. Movie classics feature 35mm film prints, a newsreel, cartoon, previews, Dec-O-Win raffle, and a live Wurlitzer organ serenade. Purchase advance tickets here and enter to win a pair of tickets here. Tickets available at the Paramount Box Office on movie night. Friday, June 26, 8pm at the Paramount Theatre, 2025 Broadway, Oakland Admission is only $5!

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
