In honor of the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day, the San Francisco City Chorus in collaboration with the Calvary Chancel Choir and Orchestra will present 2 choral masterpieces dealing with the subject of war and peace: Joseph Haydn's "Lord Nelson Mass" and Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Dona Nobis Pacem", set to Walt Whitman's civil-war era poetry. These masterworks are infused with a spirit of both the horror of war and the hope of lasting peace.
Conducted by Larry Marietta and Michael Conley with John R.S. Walko, organ, and vocal soloists Jennifer Paulino, Lisa van der Ploeg, MIchael Desnoyers, and Hadleigh Adams.
