In 2008, expectations of bland food at the World Veg Festival shattered amid creative combinations and vibrant flavors that danced off the plates. This year, the San Francisco Vegetarian Society plans to spice up the educational lectures, edibles, and informational booths at its tenth annual celebration even further with some heart-smart activities such as juggling, acrobatics, and even vegan speed-dating (while the former is performed by professionals, the latter is open to anyone aged 25 through 40). Opening night also features a Gala Dinner ($20 for cooked vegan meal or $25 for a raw vegan meal) for those still hungry after a day of out-and-out snacktion. Expect a bounty of local and national treats, from greens to sweets.
