Underground in Chinatown

It's only fitting that Brooklyn producer Matt Shadetek will play in a dark Chinatown basement for the upcoming Night Kitchen party. As half of Team Shadetek, he's one of the dons of the underground — for American bass music, that is. Shadetek releases tunes that exploit the intersection of dubstep, dancehall, and fourth-wave hip-hop for labels like Warp and Tigerbeat6. Lately he's been forging the grimy 'n' global uptempo genre becoming known as New York Tropical with fellow sonic explorer dj/Rupture for their Dutty Arts label.
