TV on the Radio: Show Preview

TV on the Radio is about a tight as a band gets. The Brooklyn band has been at the top of the indie-rock totem pole for the better part of the last decade. It's claimed multiple Spin Album of the Year awards (2006's debut Return to Cookie Mountain and 2008's Dear Science), and just churned out its once again critically acclaimed fifth studio effort in 2014's Seeds. The sheer energy that lead singer Tunde Adebimpe leads on stage, while harmonizing with Kyp Malone on tracks guided by lead guitarist and producer Dave Sitek is second-to-none. A TV on the Radio show is nothing less than a spiritual experience, and missing an opportunity to see them live is missing an opportunity to ingrain yourself into the genesis of today's finest incarnation of rock and roll, if only for a night.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
