Restaurant Details

Located just down the street from St. Paul's Cathedral (aka the church from Sister Act), Toast is a casual diner serving up greasy-spoon American cuisine. Sit outside or in, at the counter or next to the Sirron Norris mural (who also created the company's mascot, Toasty). Despite its name, Toast offers only two kinds of French toast - made with sourdough or a croissant - but does provide a selection of griddle cakes and Belgian waffles, and it's hard to pass up the chicken-fried steak, smothered in gravy and served with hash browns. If lunch is your game, try the French dip or one of the hefty salads at this Mission District location.

  • clipping at Brava Theater Sept. 11
Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
