The Shining: Forwards and Backwards

When: Mon., May 29, 8:30 p.m. 2017
It’s simply that, the USA cut of the 1980 Stanley Kubrick film overlaid with the visuals reversed, an experiment in alternate projection revealing an array of coincidences and synchronicities. Amplifying Kubrick’s trademark use of symmertry, repetition, mirroring, and doubling, the superimposition is a true psychedelic experience, the titular shining of film made literal, a vision of futures past, somewhere out between magic and madness.

The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
