Selected for creation by the National Performance Network of New Orleans, this national touring play is based on true historic events. It's about love and survival - the love of a Hawaiian cowboy and his family's survival in the face of decimation of their Polynesian race from diseases and the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy in 1893. Author Jack London wrote about it, and 2010-11 National Poet Laureate W.S. Merwin wrote a poetic ode. The play is told from the cowboy's point of view.
