If you've been a fan of Michael Gira and his experimental Swans project since its inception in 1982, you've been very patient and, more importantly, very forgiving. The band's sound has changed considerably from the early days in which it dominated the musical landscape with an onslaught of ferocity and sheer brutality. And while many fans may have abandoned Gira and company after he dissolved the band to start his Angels Of Light project in the late '90s, those who persevered would find great reward with the band's inevitable return. Folks who need a reminder just how relevant the band still is should check out their 13th release, To Be Kind, to realize just what they've missed. Come ready to listen and turn your phone off.

Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
