Stripmall Architecture
Sure, we're a little biased, but we think you should come see these bands perform Saturday, June 23, at The Independent. 8:30 p.m., $10-$12.
Because it is summer and because we like local bands and because what the hell, SF Weekly and its music blog, All Shook Down, are presenting a show featuring three Bay Area artists. Headlining is S.F's own Stripmall Architecture, the futuristic art-pop band whose penchant for sonic innovation yields dim-hued, synth-driven songs that are both driving and atmospheric. Also playing is Warm Soda — the new, poppier trio led by Matthew Melton, formerly of beloved Oakland garage-pop outfit Bare Wires. Opening is Will Sprott, songwriter and performer par excellence, who's best known for having fronted South Bay outfit the Mumlers.
