Elevate’s season-opener “Stravinsky: Reconstructed” breaks down and rebuilds Igor Stravinsky’s "Octet for Wind Instruments." The show opens with Elevate’s eight wind soloists performing a flurry of virtuosic solo and duo works showcasing the individual voices of the "Octet". They will then unite on stage to premiere Aaron Gervais' "Don't Look At". The second half will open with Stravinsky's vibrant "Octet" followed by the premiere of Nick Vasallo's epic concerto for piano-four-hands and octet. The concerto, "ATUM: Everything and Nothing", is inspired by the myth of Atum, the Egyptian God of Creation and will feature the Grammy-nominated ZOFO Duet as soloists.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
