Your homesteading efforts may lie within the San Francisco city limits, or you may have taken a second home in the North Bay, where your goats can roam free and your pickling operation gets its own shed. But perhaps you don’t know how to divert the water from your washing machine to the graywater system that irrigates your ever-thirsty bamboo. Want to start a worm compost bin in the kitchen of your yardless apartment? The "How-to Homestead Hootenanny" has gathered films on these topics and more, some of which will be shown tonight, while others are available at www.howtohomestead.org. Tonight’s event offers a tasting of homesteaded items such as pickled vegetables, home brews, pies, and whatever homemade comestibles attendees bring to share. The evening’s activities also include square dancing to live band Pearsons Pork Pies, and whatever-kind dancing to “nuevo-traditional jug band” Goat Family. This is the kind of knee-slapping skill share you want to check out, whatever your reasons.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
