Social Ecology Intensive

When: Sat., June 10, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. 2017
social-ecology.org/wp/2016/12/2017seminar
The past year has brought disappointment and fear, but also powerful visions of the possible. The presidential election reinforced the worst of the status quo and brought new levels of racism and neofascism to the forefront. Yet we have also seen indigenous power and climate justice come together in the Dakota Access Pipeline struggle, mobilizing thousands of supporters. This June in San Francisco, the Institute for Social Ecology will offer an Intensive Seminar which will bring together activists, students, academics and community leaders for a dynamic week of exploring the struggle for a free society in theory and praxis.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
