Hailing from the Bay Area’s first family of jazz, multi-instrumentalist Smith Dobson V returns to the JHL with his masterful quartet. An invaluable contributor to the Bay Area jazz scene for more than two decades, the Santa Cruz-raised multi-instrumentalist brims with creativity. He’s worked as a vibraphonist and drummer (performing widely with trumpeter Erik Jekabson), but these days he’s concentrating on reeds, and for this JHL engagement he’s bringing his soprano, alto and tenor saxophones.
