The Dead Weather
The Dead Weather is touring behind its second album, Sea of Cowards, and performs with Harlem at the Warfield on Thursday, July 22. 8 p.m., $40; www.ticketmaster.com.
What do the White Stripes, Queens of the Stone Age, the Kills, and the Greenhornes have in common? Rock supergroup the Dead Weather. With Jack White on drums and occasional guitar, Dean Fertita of Queens of the Stone Age on lead six-string and keys, Jack Lawrence of the Raconteurs and Greenhornes on bass, and the Kills' Alison Mosshart screaming lead vocals, the four have put all their hard-rocking musical tastes in a blender and slammed the purée button. What comes out is a sound that can only be described as overtly badass. Mosshart's crazy stage theatrics and White's impeccable talents make for a live show guaranteed to blow everyone's booze-soaked brains.
