CMC Woodwinds faculty David Steinberg presents works featuring a combination of live instrumental performances paired with electronic and sampled elements inspired by jazz, R&B, gospel, musique concrète, and avant garde. The program seeks to explore how social media and “lifestyle content” impact our priorities and perception of ourselves. These perpetuate the notion that consumerist habits, imbued with the pretense of social activism or spiritual enrichment, can fill the void that traditional sources of meaning, now largely unattainable, have left behind.
