Freedom to chew: If you want to ban smokeless tobacco because you find it unsightly, well that's in the eye of the beholder, isn't it? ["Thrown Out at Home Plate: S.F. Approves Ban on Chewing Tobacco at Baseball Park," Amy Alexander, Sucka Free City, 4/30]. I may find tattoos to be aesthetically displeasing. Should I have the right to get together with likeminded individuals and enact a ban on tattoos? No, I shouldn't have that right because it's none of my business to tell you what you can or can't do as long as it doesn't infringe upon others' rights. Todd L.

Damn carpetbaggers: Trying to push its perceived S.F. values on the rest of the planet while Rome burns here at home. Carpetbaggers ... Gotta love 'em. Yet they're untouchable often, in some cases running unopposed for re-election. Read it 'n weep

Poor people — they just don't get it: Want housing security? Buy a home ["Cycle of Eviction: Landlords Use Ellis Act to Kick Tenants to the Curb," Ida Mojadad, News, 4/30]. Can't afford to buy in a desirable (expensive) area? Go somewhere you can afford. It's not rocket science. Ken

You didn't listen the first time, the first time: If you're still working for minimum wage when it goes up to $15/hour in 2016, you have nobody to blame but yourself ["On International Workers Day, 60,000 San Franciscans Are Getting a Raise," Julia Carrie Wong, Snitch, 5/1]. If you're doing entry level work your whole life, you are not putting in enough effort and have nobody to blame but yourself. SanctuaryForMe

Don't stop believin'!: Wow, the author of this article ["Karaoke Kounterpoint: You Are Hereby Found Guilty of Crimes Against Humility," John Graham, cover feature, 4/30] sounds like a ton of fun. Someone I would love to hang out with any night of the week. *rolls eyes.* Anon_Gal

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
