Good News
At least someone is celebrating: I am so happy to reread and relive this memory of how there is hope and justice. This young man deserves so much more money then they gave him ["Presumed Guilty: Gang Murder, Police Corruption, and Shattered Lives in Bayview-Hunters Point." Jonah Owen Lamb, Feature, 3/11]. The SFPD has always been shady and they still are — for those of us who are forced to live in high-crime areas, we see it daily. The searches and beatings young black men are subjected to, the force of authority and knowing there isn't anything you can do to stop it — this, my friends, is a horrible feeling of helplessness, and has caused me personally post-traumatic stress from watching these supposed protectors of the community beat and harass the very people they swear to protect. It kills me to know nothing I do can stop it, but gives me great joy to know there are some people who can and want it stopped. Hope is all we have. I am so happy for you to be free. I swear I will always celebrate your strength and teach others about your story so it's never forgotten! Michelle Edwards

Suck It, America
Quit bitching about everyone's bitching: The tears of auto drivers about "high" gas prices are so sweet ["Why The Hell Is This Marin Gas Station Charging Drivers $8 a Gallon?," Erin Sherbert, The Snitch, 3/13]. Americans pay way less than everyone else in the world and somehow everyone else manages. Your constant bitching and whining about the most subsidized form of transportation in the US just shows what entitled babies Americans have become. Go suck an egg. Americans Are Whiny Bitches

The Things That Make a Cop Smile
It's fucked up and wrong ... maybe: These people were not read their rights, were not doing anything wrong at the time, and should not have been searched ["Watch: Two Arrested During Yung Lott Music Video Shoot In Bayview-Hunters Point," Emma Silvers, All Shook Down, 3/13]. This is fucked up and wrong. And only in this police state we live in would people ... justify this. They are probably law enforcement anyway. Did you see that cop smile when he had a hand full of cash? This makes me so mad, thought our city was better than this. Matt Long

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
