SF Sketchfest Presents: Oh No, Ross and Carrie!

When: Tue., Jan. 15, 8 p.m. 2019
Price: $35
"Oh No, Ross and Carrie" has been delighting audiences since 2011 with their unique blend of investigative reporting, critical thinking, and humor. Hosts Ross Blocher and Carrie Poppy go undercover in fringe religions, receive alternative medicine treatments, and investigate offbeat claims. They have been ear candled, fire cupped, exorcised, and energetically re-aligned. They've learned to dowse, firewalk, and speed read. They've been certified in Dianetics and Reiki. And they've gone undercover in Scientology, Mormonism, the Raelian UFO religion, Ordo Templi Orientis, and more. They are regularly in the top-100 spirituality podcasts, and were nominated for a journalism award by the LA Press Club. In 2014, they joined the Maximum Fun network, alongside shows like "My Brother My Brother and Me," "Judge John Hodgman," "Adam Ruins Everything," and "Sawbones."

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
