Sex and the City by the Bay

Still reeling from the stiletto-sized hole in your heart since The Golden Girls Christmas Episodes closed for the season? Us too. But you can wipe the glitter-encrusted tears from your eyes, because Trannyshack is back with drag renditions of the popular, cosmo- and shoe-obsessed HBO series Sex and the City. Drag dynamo Heklina stars as Carrie, D’Arcy Drollinger (who also does a terrific Lindsay Lohan) plays the vixen Samantha, Lady Bear serves up the cynicism as Miranda, and Trixxie Carr tackles the prudish yet romantic Charlotte. Sex and the City: Live! features two episodes a night every Wednesday until the vodka runs dry (i.e., its run is open-ended). This also comes perfectly timed with the Sex and the City prequel, The Carrie Diaries, premiering on the CW this month. When it comes to powerhouse drag performances, now is the time to get Carried away.
Wednesdays, 7 & 9 p.m. Starts: Jan. 23. Continues through Nov. 13, 2013

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
