See Alfred Hitchcock's 'Notorious' at the Paramount Theatre Nov. 20! Recommended

When: Fri., Nov. 20 2015
Alfred Hitchcock's NOTORIOUS (1946) is playing at the Paramount Theatre on Friday, November 20th! Purchase advance tickets here and enter to win a pair of tickets here. Tickets also available at the Paramount Box Office on movie night. Director Alfred Hitchcock delivers a masterful stew of foreign intrigue and romantic drama set in post-World War II Brazil. Alicia Huberman (Ingrid Bergman), the daughter of a convicted Nazi spy, is enlisted by American intelligence agent T.R. Devlin (Cary Grant) to infiltrate German activities in South America. As Alicia seduces her way into a mysterious German cabal, the tension builds - and so does the romantic chemistry between her and Devlin. Will her marriage to Nazi plotter Alexander Sebastian (Claude Rains) prove her commitment to her mission and to Devlin? Or will the escalating mistrust and deception doom their relationship? Scripted by Ben Hecht, the film is one of Hitchcock’s most sophisticated thrillers with Ingrid Bergman never looking so radiant, Cary Grant demonstrating his unique manly-but-vulnerable appeal, and Claude Rains turning in a spectacular Oscar nominated performance as a not quite so heartless villain.

Movie classics feature 35mm film prints, a newsreel, cartoon, previews, Dec-O-Win raffle, and a live Wurlitzer organ serenade.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
