Sixteen ladies who lick the air with their legs. Line of sixteen, leaning. Formations lifted into gyrations: a partnership. Bianca Cabrera's Blind Tiger Society roars onto the stage at ODC Theater for its biggest show yet in The Aftermath Affair, the result of three years of experiments in movement. Combining technical contemporary dance with contact improvisation, Blind Tiger Society names itself after the sideshow acts that served as cover stories for tippling hooch. Composer Ben Juodvalkis, whose electronic beats have accompanied a number of Bay Area dance companies, including LINES Ballet and Joe Goode Dance Company, returns as a collaborator. Blind Tiger doesn't want you to calculate, only feel something elemental and geometric, the weight shifting as a woman shifts from her left hip to her right, a few inches higher and sharper than nature would allow on the sculpted tip of an implicit heel.
