Schroeder’s Oktoberfest kick off boasts an elaborate celebration closing down all of Front Street beginning at 3 p.m. Hundreds of revelers join for an outdoor Bavarian beer hall featuring benches and communal tables for outdoor dining to set the stage for dancing, brews and traditional German fare alongside Hofbräu activities, including stein holding contests, Polka dancing and the traditional Danish “chicken dance.” This is a 21 and over event. Lederhosen and dirndls are encouraged. September 16, 3- 8 p.m. – music by Polkalicious begins at 5 p.m. The official after party will continue inside Schroeder's with DJ Jerry Ross.
