Our 2017 Artist in Residence, best-selling author and international performer Sarah Kay, will share her passion for inspiring children to find their voices, and will explore creativity as a path to empathy and a way to transform grief, during two sessions of The Forum, on October 15 and 22. Sarah Kay is an American poet and spoken word performer, born and raised in New York City. She is a best-selling author (No Matter the Wreckage, The Type), founder/co-director of Project Voice and performed at a TED conference in Long Beach, California, in 2011, where she received two standing ovations.

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
